Amused to death
Creative writing

Why? That was my question during my time on Earth. Why was a beautiful planet like Earth destroyed by its most amazing species? After investigating and running some tests, I came to the conclusion that a new species called humans were the ones responsible for the demise of their planet. How did they do this? That is a complete mystery, for the one I have two hypotheses. 1: with Highly Enriched Uranium and Oak Ridge Alloy. 2: with a monster called climate change. Now we will talk about my hypothesis and my investigation.

After running the first tests on earth I found something quite interesting, soil was full of Highly Enriched Uranium and Oak Ridge Alloy. I tried to combine both elements and I almost blew myself away. Mixing both elements is potentially dangerous even in a small quantity and according to my investigation humans mixed both of them in high concentrations leading to the end of their race and the planet. With only one test I could get to the conclusion about the potential danger of these chemicals and I can not understand how humans did not get it and destroyed it. My first hypothesis about this situation is that they wanted to use it against external danger (like us) and that by accident they activated all of their weapons, destroying their planet. My second hypothesis is that they used these weapons to destroy their enemies in other territories, which led to the end of the planet. I do not know what the reason was for humans to create atomic energy (as they used to call the mix of Highly Enriched Uranium and Oak Ridge Alloy), but I do know how dangerous it is and why we can not use it on our planet if we do not want to end like humans did.

My tests not only led me to my first hypothesis, but also showed me a different reason about how humans ended their planet, climate change. Tests showed how soil on earth stopped receiving the same amount of water and nutrients as usual. Also, the soil showed me traces of different fires and floods in the last century. Not only that, but while looking at the old constructions around the planet, I found different newspapers (as they were called) warning about the consequences of it. These reinforced my hypothesis about climate change being the cause of humans' fall. Again this conclusion gave me more questions, why if humans knew about the danger of climate change, they did nothing to stop it. My analysis and studies showed me that humans were a smart species, but their lack of actions make me doubt these assumptions.

Why? I still wonder why humans could destroy their planet even after seeing the consequences of their actions. They saw the terrible scopes of atomic energy and still kept it or, even worse, used it. They saw the repercussions of climate change and just ignored it as if it was nothing. Now I have a new question, how such a magnificent species acted blindly towards dangerous situations that led to their end. I just hope that this investigation helps our planet to prevent being like humans.
