Do you have your gifts already?

In my family we have the tradition of giving each other gifts the night before Christmas; however, for my sisters and I, it is difficult to come up with something new every year. Our parents and the rest of our relatives buy some chocolates or clothes to surprise family on the holidays, so we rather create our own Christmas gifts. After many years of doing this, I have learned how to create new presents and make everyone proud and satisfied with the gifts we make. These are two alternatives of homemade gifts that are easy, fun and creative:

Santa Claus plastic cup

Materials:

  • plastic cup with lid

  • red crêpe paper

  • black cardboard

  • golden crayon

  • glue stick or cold silicone

  • ruler

  • pencil

Steps:

  1. Measure with the ruler the height of the plastic glass and the diameter of the circle in the base

  2. Use your mathematical skills and multiply the diameter x2

  3. Measure with the ruler the length of the glass that is the result of the formula (diameterx2), and mark the lines in the red crêpe paper with a pencil.

  4. Cut the rectangle and with silicone or glue stick paste it around the plastic glass

  5. Cut a small rectangle of black cardboard with the height that you want and the length of (diameter x2)

  6. Paste the cardboard rectangle around and in the middle of the cup

  7. Decorate de black cardboard with a golden square using the golden crayon

  8. Add whatever you want inside the plastic glass.
