Anna K, a love story

“ Every teenage girl is the same, while every unhappy teenage girl is special in her own special way” - Jenny Lee

Many romance books are out there, and many treat or talk about different love tropes and scenarios. In today's review, I will happily discuss one of the books that marked me to this day.

Anna K by Jenny Lee is a romance young adult book that mainly talks about our main character Anna’s adventures with love and relationships. This story is sort of a retelling of “Anna Karenina by Leon Tolstoy,” a famous author in the 19th century. In this book, the author introduces many character's points of view; we have Anna K, our main character, who is half Korean and half American. Steven who is Anna’s big brother. Lolly, who is his girlfriend. Kimmie who is Lolly’s little sister. Alexia Vronsky, the mystery train station boy, and finally Alexander who is Anna’s current boyfriend.

Now that we finished naming the characters, I will tell you what the book is about. The book starts off with Steven cheating on Lolly with another girl; this forces Anna to go back home and help him fix his mess. Anna comes back on a train by herself, here she meets an old woman  that keeps her entertained

throughout the ride. As soon as she gets to the station she sees a really good-looking boy, he is tall, blonde, and has a really nice body structure. Anna then saw her older brother right next to that mystery boy, little did she know he would ruin her life or maybe make it even better.

I really recommend this book to younger people in their teenage years because I believe this could have many relatable moments that will create a stronger connection between the reader and the story. I hope you read it and enjoyed it as much as I did!
